Blaine H. Brown

U.S. Veteran

Blaine Brown, Age 83, passed away at his home in South Branch, Michigan Saturday, June 2, 2012. He has been a resident of South Branch for twenty years and previously of Lupton, Michigan.

Blaine was an auto mechanic and part owner of the Lupton Garage for over 30 years with Butch Temple. He was a proud WWII Veteran and a member of the Lupton Fire Department. His hobbies included horseshoes, canoe racing which included the AuSable Canoe Marathon race, riding snowmobiles, dune buggies, and hunting. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed.

Blaine married Jacqueline Hildabrand in Bowling Green, Ohio on January 15, 1949. They were married 63 years. His wife Jackie survives him along with his three children Mindy King, Lupton; Michele (Bruce) Reetz, West Branch; and Melissa Brown, South Branch. His grandchildren Wade Galer; Kelly (Kevin) Bulow; Chris Reetz; Blake (David Ketchem) Reetz Travis Tinker; Jason Tinker; Michele (Joe) Clark; 16 great grand children and 1 great great grandchild survive him.

Blaine was preceded in death by his parents Floyd & Angelina (Lince) Brown; sisters Florence McDonald, Helen Rogers and Lillian Dugan; and brothers Floyd Brown Jr. and Bill Brown.

Visitation for Blaine will begin Monday, June 4, 2012 from 1-8 PM and Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 12-2 PM at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City. The funeral will be on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City. Synodically Authorized Minister Hedy Alcock will officiate with burial following in Lane Height in Lupton, Michigan
