Jerry Chad Curtis

Jerry Chad Curtis, age 40 of St. Helen, passed away suddenly of a heart attack Wednesday June 20, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Grayling. Chad had lived in St. Helen since 2000, formerly of Ypsilanti. He was a member of the pool league in Roscommon and he enjoyed softball, hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling. He looked forward to holidays and spending time with his family.

Chad is survived by his mother Carrol Curtis of St. Helen, his sister Robyn (Mike) Warden of Ypsilanti, his niece Kayla Warden, his aunts, Martha Baker and Sindy (Bill) Schermerhorn both of St. Helen and Sondra Curtis of Ypsilanti and his uncle J.D. (Debby) Curtis of Ypsilanti. Also surviving are his cousins, Erica “Cindy” Ison, David and Brian Ison, Ed, Wesley and Thomas Schermerhorn, Tammy Cook and Danielle Brady. He was preceded in death by his father Hubert “Kip” Curtis, his grandparents, Rev. Leo and Violet Curtis and Leonard and Ruthal Baker and his aunt Dora Baker.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin at 11:00a.m. on Monday June 25, 2012 until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Calvin Brown will officiate with burial following at Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen.

He was a gentle giant with a heart of gold.
