Florence M. Matuszak

Florence M. Matuszak age 86 of West Branch, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Florence had lived in West Branch since 1973, formerly of Berkley and Maple Ridge. She was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church of Prescott and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch. She was a member of ARC (Association of Retarded Children), the Lake Ogemaw Summer Resort Association and the St. Stephens Widows Club.

Florence is survived by her children, Pat (Larry) Zdeb of Troy, Ron Matuszak of Oscoda, Greg (Donna) Matuszak of Berkley, Ted Matuszak of Whittemore, and Jan Matuszak of West Branch. She also has 9 grandchildren, Derrek (Kelly) Zdeb, Travis Zdeb, Ellen (Jon) Strom, Katie (Scott) Miller, Marie Matuszak, Kevin Matuszak, Stanley Matuszak, Madison Matuszak, Adaline Matuszak and 4 great-grandchildren Brady, Lauren, Avery and Ella. Also surviving is her sister, Grace Woida of Posen and her brothers, Harold (Pat) Janiszewski of West Branch, Joe (Marlene) Janiski of Clio and Harry (Barb) Janiski of Flint. She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore in 1995, her daughter Kristina, daughter-in-law Carla Matuszak and her brother Arthur Janiszewski.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 3-9 p.m. On Thursday, Florence will lie in state at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Mass at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Patrick Maher will officiate with burial following at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Special Olympics or to ARC.
