Barbara Elaine Way

Barbara Elaine (Gardner) Way, age 79, went peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 after a brief illness. Barbara was born on February 16, 1939 in Port Huron, MI to Gerald and Margarette (Patrick) Gardner. She grew up in Port Huron and met the love of her life there, Kenneth Way. She attended St. Paul Bible College (now Crown College) in St. Paul, MN. Barbara was a retired bank teller, having worked for several banks. She was a former member of the Cornerstone Alliance Church in Pontiac, MI where she served as church pianist and other musical ministries. She is currently a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in West Branch, MI.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ken Way of Gladwin, MI; daughters, Rebecca (Steve) Rine of Gladwin and Connie (Mike) Brown of Byron, MI; sisters, Gail Smith of Brown City, MI and Martha (David Sr.) McLaren of Peck, MI; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Rev. Gerald Gardner; mother, Margarette (Patrick) Gardner; sister, Linda Gardner, and son, Timothy B. Way.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Viewing at Calvary Baptist Church in West Branch at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018 with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Baptist Cemetery. Pastor Tom Teall will officiate.
