Christopher Ray David

Christopher Ray David, age 32, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He was born on June 9, 1986 in West Branch, MI to Robert David and Michele (Miller) David and has lived in West Branch his entire life. He was diagnosed at a young age with Juvenile Diabetes and was a Michigan Masonic Juvenile Diabetes Poster Child from 1988-1992. He lobbied on the capital in Washington, D.C. and Lansing, MI for diabetes research funding. Chris graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in 2004. He grew up in West Branch and played on the West Branch Little League, for the Ogemaw Browns Football, and the Ogemaw Heights Football. He later went to be an athletic trainer for Ogemaw Heights while in school.

Chris worked at Pinnacle Rehab and Wal-Mart in West Branch, PTI in Tawas, Header Products in Rose City, and currently was employed at Vantage Plastics in Standish. He enjoyed hunting and sports, especially football and baseball. He also loved spending time with his family.

Chris is survived by his father, Robert David; mother, Michele (Mark Kuschyk) David; brother, Brandon (Angela) David; grandparents, Russell and Judy Miller; nieces and nephews, Savanna Micol, Zack Micol, Annabelle David, Madison David, and Joshua David; aunts and uncles, Antie Barb (Larry) Watson, Bruce (Leigh) David, Mike (Deb) Miller, Denise (Rusty) Showalter, and Caroline Smith; cousins, Chad (Heather) Watson, Drew (Katy) Watson, Eric (Nicole) David, Adam (Allie) David, Evan (Michael) Bedtelyon, and Jheri Miller; and several extended family. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis and Roberta David and great aunt Dee Marchell.

A Memorial Service will be held at the West Branch Little League Fields on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with fellowship starting at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the American Cancer Society or plant a tree in the community in his memory.

The family would like to thank Mid-Michigan Medical Center Emergency Department in West Branch, Mid-Michigan Medical Center of Midland Oncology and ICU and University of Michigan CCU staff for their wonderful care to Chris.
