Darwin Duane Yorton

Darwin Duane Yorton, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born on July 8, 1950 in Flint to Duane and Erva Jean (Root) Yorton. Darwin lived in Prescott since 1987, formerly of Millington. On April 26, 2002 he married Mary VanSickle in West Branch. He was a member of the Local 659 and worked for General Motors for 30 years. He retired from GM in 1998. He traveled for 12 years with Mary and enjoyed watching baseball, football, playing euchre and NASCAR. Darwin was a mechanic and owned a race car that he enjoyed working on. He especially loved his family and watching his grandchildren play sports.

Darwin is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Mary Yorton of Prescott; sons, Kevin (Jenny) Yorton of Alger and Tim (Jody) Yorton of Whittemore; stepchildren, Chan Eberhart of Farwell and Jennifer (Larry) Moats of Twining; grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Samantha, Ty, Tristan, and Tyler; great granddaughter, Raegan; brothers, Mike (Terry) Yorton of Greenville and Greg Yorton of Clio; and sister, Brenda (George) Cummer of Clio. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Rodney Morrison, Pastor will officiate.
