Dee Kay Mckinnon

Dovalean Kay McKinnon, age 64, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Covenant Health Care in Saginaw, MI. Dee has been a longtime resident of West Branch, MI. Born on January 27, 1954 in Pontiac, MI to David and Ella (Blaylock) Brookshire. She enjoyed bowling, camping, watching her grandchildren play sports, but must of all she enjoyed spending time with all her family. Dee always had an open door for anybody who wanted to be in her home due to having a very loving, caring, and nurturing heart.

Dee is survived by her husband Jim McKinnon of West Branch, children Mark (Donna) Brookshire of Prescott, Jim (Jackie Hewitt) McKinnon Jr. of West Branch, Beth (Jon) Hoydic of West Branch, and Shawna (Dino) Lyons of West Branch. She has 11 grandchildren, Aaron (Brianna) Brookshire, Shawn Lyons, Brenden Lyons, Alex Hoydic, Jacob Lyons, Reese McKinnon, Brooke Hoydic, Kiana Lyons, Aleesha McKinnon, Luke Hoydic, and Noah Brookshire. She also has 3 great grandchildren Sophia, Bella, and Amelia, and 7 brothers David (Kathy), John (Debbie), Jim (Veronica), Terry, Rick (Kathy), Randy (Cathy) Kevin Brookshire and father in law Bill McKinnon. She is preceded in death by her parents David and Ella Brooskshire, grandparents Dewey and Thelma Brookshire and her mother in-law Alice McKinnon.

Visitation for Dee will begin on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 4-9PM at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch. Her funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11:00AM at the Funeral Home. Chaplin Randy Brokaw will officiate.

Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
