Joseph Bertossi

Joseph Bertossi, age 82, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019 at his home in West Branch. He was born on May 10, 1937 in Richmond to Enrico and Leona (Miller) Bertossi. He worked construction in Detroit and in Florida as a heavy equipment operator. Joe moved to West Branch in 1970 and started J & P Sporting Goods in 1982. He retired and sold the business in 1993 and spent his retirement hunting, fishing and golfing at the Dream and Nightmare. Joe also enjoyed wintering in Casa Grande, AZ.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia (Liebzeit) Bertossi of West Branch; daughter, Brenda (John) Bertossi-Furca of CO; son, Bret (Linda) Bertossi of West Branch; daughter in law, Sally Bertossi of West Branch; grandchildren, Tiffany (Brian) Jenkins of OK, Tennille (Eric) Thome of Riverview, Kristi (Steve) Winter of West Branch, Bradley (Melissa) Bertossi of West Branch, Anthony Bertossi of West Branch, Corey Bertossi of Grand Rapids, Zach Bertossi of Lansing and BreiAnna Bertossi of Grand Rapids; and 13 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Brian, grandchildren, Alexis and Aaron, and brothers, Lawrence and Enrico.

Per Joe’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later time.
