Mary Edna Jacobs

Mary E. Jacobs, age 97, passed away, into the arms of God, on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. She lived in Lupton, MI for the past 24 years, formerly of Flint, MI. Mary was born on December 13, 1922 to Edward and Marguerite (Cannon) Gibbs in Hartford, CT. She was a member at Holy Family Catholic Church in Klacking Creek, the CCW of Holy Family Church, Klacking Creek, St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary of Flint and a past member of St. Michael’s Church in Flint and Holy Redeemer Church in Flint.

Mary enjoyed living on George Lake, visiting friends, cooking, sewing, quilting and playing bridge with her lifelong friend, Betty Kane. Her greatest joy was her 65 year marriage to Donald and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her children, Patricia (Nicholas) Iozzo of Batavia, IL, Fredrick (Denise) Jacobs of Holland, Steven (Tami) Jacobs of Six Mile, SC, Nancy Jacobs of Holland, and James Jacobs of Lupton; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jon), Matthew (Courtney), Christopher (Kim), David, and Michael; and great grandchildren, Kenneth, Katherine, Haley and Ethan.

Mary is also survived by her sister, Sister Marguerite Gibbs, IHM of Monroe, MI; and sisters-in-law, Joyce (Bruce) Jacobs of MI and Catherine (Thomas) Gibbs of MD. Mary also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald in 2016 and brother, Thomas.

A graveside service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in West Branch on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. Deacon Glen Painter will officiate.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Ogemaw Commission of Aging, for all they did for Mary and the family, or Holy Family Catholic Church.
