Michael John Joseph Phelan

Michael John Joseph Phelan, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 7, 2019 in West Branch. He had lived in West Branch for over 20 years, formerly of Chesaning. Michael was born on September 24, 1939 in St. Clair to Earl and Dorothy (Lappan) Phelan. He was an avid reader, enjoyed hunting, golfing, and was an amateur pilot.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Judy Phelan of West Branch; children, Paul (Julie) Phelan of Twining, Mary (Bill) Roleson of Hamburg Twp., Sean Phelan of Woodridge, IL, Robert Kulka of Howell, and William Kulka M.D. of Palm Springs, CA; grandchildren, Nicholas, Samuel, Katie Mae, and Kyle; sister, Mary Jo Cameron; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
