Richard "Dick" Stephens

Richard “Dick” Stephens, age 76 of Alger, passed away at MidMichigan Health in West Branch on Thursday, November 22, 2018. He had lived in Alger since 1979, formerly of Flint. Dick was a member of Secord Baptist Church and Wildwood and Clement Fire Department. He served as the Bourret Township Supervisor and Trustee. Dick worked at General Motors and retired in 1991. He enjoyed hunting, cutting firewood, welding and working on anything with an engine.

Dick is survived by his children, Vondola (Randy) Schmitt of Rose City, Lavina Fiebig of South Eastern, KY, and Margaret Tatro of Beaverton; his special sons, Terry (Kathy) White of Alger and Jerry White of Alger; grandchildren, Tom, Miranda, and Richard Schmitt, Todd Fiebig, Stephanie (Vance) Blevins and Danielle Tatro; and a great-granddaughters Joyce, Sallee, Peggilynn, and Arlis Blevins, Peyton and Lillian Fiebig; sisters, Bev (Fuzz) Heit of Millington, Margie (Mike) Tackbury of Sugar Springs, Sandra Poczontek of Clio, and Barb (Dennis) Starkey of Clio. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Lavina (France) Stephens.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later time.
