Richard Kevin Doty

Richard Kevin Doty, age 58, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. He was born on June 24, 1961 in Owosso to Clayton and Kathrine (Root) Doty. Richard lived in Prescott since 2000, formerly of West Branch and Owosso. On July 24, 2010 he married Katherine Proper in Prescott. He enjoyed doing construction, listening to music and taking care to his animals.

Richard is survived by his wife, Katherine Doty of Prescott; children, Frederick Hiatt III of National City, Jason Crossley of National City, Elizabeth Crossley of Rose City; granddaughter Novalee Doty-Crossley of Prescott; children, Richard (Katrina) Doty Jr. of White House, TN, Melissa (Gabe) Watkins of Largo, FL, Todd Doty of Mt. Pleasant, Emily (Zach) Hackney of Fenton; grandchildren, Oliva and Ava Doty and Macy Kersjes; siblings, Barbara (Joel) Nadon of Ashland City, TN, Mike (Tina) Doty of Alger, Michelle (Chad) Sigafoose of Sidney, MI, Aliceia Hollis of Loudon, TN, Robin (Jeremy) Sylvester of Johnston, CO, Bill (Delores) Koski of Owosso, Frances (Bonnie) Koski of Oakley, Mike (Penny) Koski of Elsie, Robert (Rebecca) Koski of Riverton, WY, Jennifer (Randy) Klamert of Durand, Doug (Belinda) Lohrer of Norman, OK, Kim (Steve) Lohrer of Wilcox, NE, Paul (Dena) Awrey of Dayton Beach, FL, Kathy Awrey, Tami Whitney, Donnie Steelman of West Branch, Shane Steelman of West Branch, Sylvia (Ted) Evans of Cleveland, TN, and John VanSickle of Holly; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers, Clayton Doty II, Rodger Doty, Brian Doty; stepfathers, Leslie Coomer, Antonio Robeledo, and Donald Steelman; step brother, Jamie Coomer; nephews, Christopher Copeland and Dylan Steelman; and aunt, Roberta (Larry) Wright.

A Memorial Service will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Kevin White and Pastor Jim Barr will officiate.
