Albert Dave Barton

Albert Dave Barton, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Porter Hills Village in Grand Rapids, MI. Albert was born to Herman and Elsie (Ringler) Barton on April 10, 1929 in Midland, MI. He lived in St. Helen, MI until he moved to Saginaw, MI, where he worked as a truck driver for 36 years. After retiring, he moved back to St. Helen. He was a proud 36 year Teamsters Member. Albert was in the Army serving his country during World War II and he enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Albert is survived by his daughter, Jeri (Bill) Steckling of Cedar Spring, MI; granddaughter: Melanie Auzins of Jenison, MI; sisters: Judy and Ileen; and brother: Harry. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Shirley and beloved grandson, Anthony Steckling.
A Memorial Service and luncheon will be held at the St. Helen American Legion Post from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association Great Michigan Chapter, 25200 Telegraph Road Ste. 100 Southfield, MI 48033 or United Leukodystrophy Foundation, 224 North 2nd Street Ste. 2 DeKalb, IL 60115 in memory of Albert Barton/Anthony Stecking.
