Alice J. Mckinnon

McKinnon, Alice Jean (Valley) 77 of West Branch, MI passed away September 20, 2011 at her home. She was born January 21, 1934 in Klacking Township to Harvey and Lena (Phillips) Valley. She married William (Bill) McKinnon on October 13, 1952 in Angola, Ind. He survives her. She worked for many years for Bell Telephone Company as a phone operator. She enjoyed fishing, casino trips, and Alaska where she spent ten years and didn’t want to return to MI, but she loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids so she happily moved back to MI. Surviving besides her husband of 58 years are her children: James (Dee) and Michael (Janice) both of West Branch, MI. Grandkids James Jr.; Elizabeth (Beth) (Jon) Hoydic; Shawna (Dino) Lyons all of West Branch, MI; Bridget (SSG Bradford) Livingston currently stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO heading to Fort Wainwright, AK; SSGT Michael (Erica) McKinnon of Chesapeake, VA; and SGT Anthony (Katie) McKinnon of Camp Lejeune, NC; and 17 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 until 9:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Steuernol and McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI. Chaplain Randy Brokaw will officiate with cremation to follow.
