Allene Vilma Clayton

Allene Vilma Clayton, age 95, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at The Villa at West Branch. She was born on February 1, 1926 in West Branch to Edwin and Harriet (Andrews) Husted. Allene lived in West Branch most of her life.

Allene retired from West Branch Rose City Schools as a head cook. She was a member of the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church in West Branch and enjoyed baking, sewing, crafts, gardening, and canning.

Allene is survived by her children, Gerald (Ann) Clayton of Alger, MI, David (Vicki) Clayton of Hillman, MI and Marsha (Chuck) Davenport of Greenville, MI; 8 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; siblings, Betty Bennett of West Branch, Margaret Thrall of Marlette, MI, Rev. Charles (Sue) Husted of Spring Arbor, MI, Dorothy Clayton of West Branch and Alton Clayton of Owosso, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, John Russell Clayton.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church at 3:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Harvey Fry will officiate.
