Arthur J. Beltz

Arthur J. Beltz, age 89 of St. Helen, passed away Sunday December 9, 2012 at his home. Arthur had lived in St.Helen since 1980, formerly of Eastpointe. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, the K of C #8390, and the American Legion Post #416 all of St. Helen, a member of St. Vincent De Paul and an active member of St. Angela Catholic Church both of Roseville. As a young boy he was an Eagle Scout, the scouts highest ranking. He was a Veteran of WWII serving as a Naval aviator and he retired from MichCon in 1978. He was a member of the Blue Flame Retirees Club, the St. Helen Fireworks Committee and the Snowpackers. Art and Helen were active square dancers when they lived in the Detroit area. He spent over 30 years wintering in Englewood, FL. He also enjoyed bowling, and the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved his family. Arthur is survived by his wife of 64 years Helen Beltz of St. Helen, children, Bruce (Debra) Beltz of St. Clair Shores, Brian (Karen) Beltz of St. Helen, Barry (Karen) Beltz of Eastpointe, Nancy (Bruce) Tyree of East Jordan and Terri (Jim) Jean of Sterling Heights and his grandchildren, Christopher and Kyle Beltz, Steward Miller, Jason Beltz, Michael Beltz, Kevin (Ilana) Beltz, Mark Beltz, Kalie Tyree and Shannon Tyree. He was preceded in death by his brothers Leo, Al “George” and Richard Beltz. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 3-9 p.m with a Scripture at 7:00 p.m. and a K of C Rosary will follow. On Thursday, Arthur will lie in state at St. Helen Catholic Church in St. Helen beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen. Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Helen Veterans Memorial Fund or to St. Helen Catholic Church.
