Barbara Jean Mcfarland

Barbara Jean (Currie) McFarland, age 84, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at her home in West Branch, MI with her loving family by her side. Barbara had lived up north in the Ogemaw County area since 1978, formerly of Troy, MI. She was born on April 9, 1931 in Holly, MI to Archibald and Beatrice (Crawford) Currie. Barbara married John McFarland in Royal Oak, MI on September 8, 1950. She greatly enjoyed get togethers with all the family, and camping trips taken with husband, John. Barbara and John were foster parents for many years and were honored in 1965 in Oakland County for their continued care. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in West Branch and worked at the Ogemaw County Medical Facility for many years as an aid.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John McFarland of West Branch, MI; daughter, Jenny (David) McKellar of Rose City, MI; son, John C. (Barbara) McFarland of Hale, MI; grandchildren, Rebecca (Brian) McKelvey, Meghan (Rybuna) Levels, and Molly McKellar; 6 great grandchildren; and sister, Frances Cloninger. She is preceded in death by her parents, Archibald and Beatrice, and brother, Archibald A. Currie.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
