Beatrice Lawson

Beatrice Lawson, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at her home in St. Helen, MI. She had lived in the St. Helen since 2004, formerly of South Carolina. Bea was born on July 12, 1935 in Wise County, VA to Ed and Gertrude (Mullins) Lawson. She was the 6th child of 9. Bea enjoyed making grandma B’s pies for the farmers market in the St. Helen and Houghton Lake areas. She was always in the kitchen baking and cooking. Her other hobbies were quilting, making flower arrangements, and singing in church. Mom was a prayer warrior for her family and friends.

Bea is survived by her daughter, Linda (James) Ii of St. Helen, MI; twin daughters, Janice (Patrick) Ryerson of Surfside Beach, SC and Jennifer (Pastor Dave) Black of St. Helen, MI; daughter, Angela Young of St. Helen, MI; and son, Douglas (Marilyn) Young of Livonia, MI; grandchildren, Patrick, Darcy (Mike), Kimberly (Tim), John (Jenny), Richard (Abigail), Lucas, Jimmy (Amanda), Jenny (Skip), Robby, Erica (Tony), Amanda, Matthew, Andrew, Christopher, and Andrea; great grandchildren, Austin, Noah, Carter, Travis, McKenzie, Paige, Layne, Grant, Jamie (Savanah), Autumn, Nathan, Scottie, Gabrielle, Alexandria, Alex (Amanda), Austin (Paige), Aaron, Garrett, Jeremy Jr., Kirsten, Jaylin, Kennedy, Madelyn, Andrea, and Andrew Jr.; great great grandchildren, Trae and Remington; brothers, Doug (Sandy) Lawson of Kingsport, TN and Grant (Diane) Lawson of Beulaville, NC; and sister, Loraine Willis of Pound, VA. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Jeremy, and granddaughter, Christa.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen, MI will begin on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pastor David Black will officiate.
