Benjamin F. Richardson, age 93 of West Branch passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Ben had lived in West Branch for all of his life. He served as a Captain in the Air Corp during WW II. Ben was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Kiwanis Club both of West Branch and he attended the First United Methodist Church of West Branch. Ben owned and operated Ogemaw County Abstract from 1960-1999, retiring at the age of 83. Survivors include his wife Betty Richardson of West Branch, children, Loree (Michael) Noel of Morristown, AZ and Kerry (Ann) Richardson of West Branch, grandchildren, Michelle, Melanie, Christopher, Jamie and Jennifer, and great-grandchildren, Candyce, Ann, Christopher, Ciara, Benjamin, Jamie, Henry, McKenzie, Audrey and Garett. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice and sons, Garnet and James. On Monday, March 2, 2009, the family will be present to receive friends at the First United Methodist Church in West Branch beginning at 12:30 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Mary E. Lynch and Cindy Gibbs will officiate with burial at Brookside Cemetery at 4:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch.
