Betty J. Gavitt

Betty J. Gavitt, age 85, of West Branch passed away Thursday, October 4, 2007 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. She had lived in West Branch for 50 years, formerly of Standish. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church. Betty is survived by her sons, Tom (Dianne) Gavitt of West Branch and Larry (Mickey) Gavitt of Bad Axe, 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her twin sister, June Fisk of Independence, MO, and sisters, Marie Gasdritza and Gladys "Tootie" Spycher both of Standish and Joahan Clow of Charlevoix. She was preceded in death by her husband Merle and two brothers, Clifford and Clarence. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2007 until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Elder Richard Hamilton will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ogemaw Hills Christian School.
