Betty J. Rourke

Betty J. Rourke, age 82 of West Branch passed away Friday, January 2, 2009 at Bortz Health Care in West Branch with her family by her side. Betty had lived in West Branch since 1971, formerly of Madison Heights and Troy. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Betty is survived by her husband, Jim Rourke of West Branch, children, Cathy (Wayne) Zimmerman of West Branch, Randy (Cindy) Rourke of Oscoda, Rick (JoAnne) Rourke of Metamora and Jim Rourke of Oxford, 15 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and 3 great-grandsons and her sister, Marge Wirges of West Branch. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne Holloway in 1990, great-grandsons, Ty and Ky Rourke and her parents, Harvey and Evelyn Wirges. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Sunday, January 4, 2009 from 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Robert Bissot will officiate with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 100 Woods Circle, Ste. 300 Alpena, MI 49707.
