Betty Jean Welch, age 85, passed on Friday, January 30, 2015, surrounded by her family. Betty had been a resident at Bortz Health Care of West Branch, MI for the past 9 months and formerly of N. Ft. Myers, FL.

Betty is survived by her children, Terry Hodges, Ron and Ann Hodges, all of West Branch, Susan and Steve Amari of N. Ft. Myers, FL, stepsons, Don and Sheila Welch of Hale, MI and Craig Welch of Plainwell, MI. Surviving Betty are her grandchildren, Terry (Kelly) Hodges, Jr. of West Branch, Jared (Sarah) Hodges of San Diego, CA, Stacy (Patrick) Darrow of Freeland, MI, Jeffrey (Denise) Hodges of West Branch, Shannon (Aaron) Jackson of N. Ft. Myers, FL, Mary (William) Williams of Cape Coral, FL, Ian (Susan) Ness of Enon, OH, and step-grandchildren, Jeffrey Welch of Lamont, IL, Thomas (Michelle) Welch of Burton, MI, Chelsea Welch of Alpena, MI, Cindy Dutton of St. Petersburg, FL and Sarah Amari of N. Ft. Myers, FL . Also surviving Betty are 15 great-grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren, brothers, Karl (Pat) Shaw of Traverse City, MI, Robert (Nye) Shaw of Grayling, MI, and special niece, Tracie Sears of Traverse City, MI. Betty is predeceased by her husband, Donovan O. Welch (2009) and stepdaughter, Carolyn Welch (1990).

A private memorial service will be held in the spring.
