Bruce Mark Reetz

Bruce Mark Reetz, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, MI with his wife and children by his side. He was born on November 4, 1951 in West Branch to Calvin and Joan (Burt) Reetz. Bruce lived in West Branch his whole life. On July 3, 1971 he married the love of his life Michelle “Pickie” Brown in West Branch. Bruce was a dairy farmer and very active in his community. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #8948 and was the sexton at the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. He was also a member of the Rose City Lions Club and Ogemaw Hills Snowmobile Club. Bruce was an Ogemaw County Commissioner for 12 years and served as a chairman for the last 2 years. He was previously on the board of the Ogemaw Soil Conservation and past President of Ogemaw County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed snowmobiling, horseback riding and riding his Harley. Bruce especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed his morning trips to town to have coffee and share “stories” with his friends.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Pickie Reetz of West Branch; daughter, Kelly (Kevin) Bulow of West Branch; sons, Christopher Reetz of West Branch and Blake Reetz of Ypsilanti; grandchildren, Kylee (Justin Johnson) Reetz, Paige Reetz, Blaine Bulow, and Carley Bulow; sisters, Brenda (Mike Kelly) Reetz of Grand Ledge and Debbi Thomas of Rose City; brothers, Jim (Tobi) Reetz of Littleton, CO, David (Mary Kay) Reetz of Mt. Pleasant and Jeff (Carrie) Reetz of West Branch; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Ron Thomas.

Visitation will be held at the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church on Monday, January 4, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The family will have a private funeral service at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Deacon Glen Painter will officiate.

Visitation will be held with precautions, due to the current pandemic, limiting the number of attendees at a given time.
