Carolyn "Carrie" Faye Longfield

Carolyn "Carrie" Faye Longfield, age 80 of West Branch, passed away suddenly Saturday, December 31, 2016 at her home. Carrie was born March 12, 1936 to John and Cecil Morey in Pontiac, MI. She married David Longfield on August 29, 1958 at the Congregational Church in Highland, MI. She has lived in West Branch most of her adult life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Past President of the Michigan Women’s Black Angus Auxiliary, Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and Past Bethel Guardian for the International Order Job’s Daughters. She enjoyed playing Bridge with her many lady friends. Carrie enjoyed her weekly golf league and was the long time Chairperson for "Golf for a Cure" at the Nightmare and Dream Golf Courses. She especially loved Beagles and her and Dave enjoyed many over the years. The most recent being Maggie Mae. Carrie was industrious and exceeded in every endeavor she encountered. She was passionate, dedicated, and so proud of her family. Carrie was spunky, loving, and loyal to the core. As many of her lucky friends and family know, she was also a master candy maker and enjoyed sharing her craft.

Carrie is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, David Longfield, daughter, Denise (Sheldon) Renaud of Iowa, son, Russ Arnold of Texas, grandchildren; Kyle (Abby) Price, Katelyn Price, Klarisa Price, Josh Renaud, MiKayla Renaud, Kendall (Rebecca) Turnipseed, Chris (Brooke) Arnold, Nick Arnold, Alexandra Arnold, great-grandchildren; Summer, MaKenzie, Braxton, Harley and Knox. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews including special niece, Peggy (Phil) Williams of Ortonville. Carrie had a special relationship with the Courtemanche kids; Darcy, Dan, Darla and their families.. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Russ and Glen Morey, and sister, Betty Cantor.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in West Branch at 11:00 AM with family receiving friends from 10:00 AM until time of service. Rev. Timothy Dibble will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of West Branch or the West Branch Kiwanis Club.
