Catherine May Winter

Catherine May Winter, age 76, died Saturday July 3, 2004 at her home. She was born to the late Samuel Sr. and Beulah (Bohnard) Ruegsegger on May 1, 1928 in West Branch. Catherine was an owner-operator of a wood products business. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Ladies Aid. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, sewing, knitting, crocheting, ceramics, gardening, trips to the casino and traveling. Catherine had a wonderful sense of humor. Survivors include sons Larry (Judy) Winter of Alger, Allen Winter of West Branch 2 grandchildren Jeff (Sarah) Winter of Sterling, Steve (Kristi) Winter of Gladwin, 5 great-grandchildren Tom, Brandon, Aspen, Easton and Morgan. Also surviving are her sisters Doris (Ernie) Wood of Sterling Heights, Jean (Bob) Kartes of Pinconning, Judy (Butch) Painter of East Tawas, Janet (Jerry) Norton of West Branch and brothers Samuel (Judy) Ruegsegger of Rose City, Hugh (Linda) Ruegsegger of Virginia Beach VA, Mike (Jan) Ruegsegger of Gaylord, Marty (Judy) Ruegsegger of Roscommon, and Pat (Terri) Ruegsegger of West Branch and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is Catherine's special friend Peggy Rau of West Branch. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd and a baby boy. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Monday July 5, 2004 from 1-9:00 P.M. A Scripture Service will be held at 8:00 P.M. on Monday evening. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday July 6, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch with Father Robert Bissot and Father Richard Seifferly presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
