Clarence E. French 76 of Gladwin County passed away July 30 in Bay Medical surrounded by his family. He was born February 11, 1933 in Wayne county Michigan, the son of Milton and Mary Ann (Yankee) French. He was raised in Clio on a farm. Clarence served his country as an Airplane Mechanic working on cargo planes in the Air Force at James Connally Air Force Base in Waco, Texas. He worked in road building and was a lifelong member of the Operating Engineers local 324 with 50+ years of membership. He retired to a life traveling between Michigan and Florida each year. He is survived by his wife Judy, of 16 years, 3 brothers, Barry and Diane, Darryl and Kathy, Tim and Diana, 5 children: Nancee and John Harrigan of New Hampshire, Arcia French Arney of New Hampshire, Matthew and Janine French of Indiana, Lisa and Tom Sullivan of Oregon, Adam and Mary French of Michigan, step-daughter Tonya Mason of Michigan, 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, brother Richard French, wife Beverly (McGrath) French, and grandson Eric Amey. There will be no calling hours. A memorial is planned for a later date.
