Conrad Francis Nowicki

Conrad Francis Nowicki age 75, of St. Helen passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family with much love and prayers. Conrad was a loving husband, generous and dedicated father, and proud grandfather. He was born January 12, 1938 to Frank and Sadie (Wacholda) Nowicki in Saginaw, MI. He married Kathryn Andrews on November 7, 1959 at Holy Rosary Church in Saginaw, MI. Conrad worked as a Master Journeyman Electrician for Saginaw Local IBEW 557 for 30 years and retired in 1997 and moved to St. Helen, MI at that time. Conrad was a member of the Grayling Sportsmen Club. He loved to hunt, fish, target shoot, and was a most avid reader all of his life. He also loved watching his grandchildren play on the field or in the yard. Conrad could fix just about anything he put his mind to. Conrad is survived by his wife, Kathryn of St. Helen, daughters, Janet (Steve) Aspin of Birch Run, Gail (Jere) Getzinger of West Branch, grandchildren, Katie (Nick) Rapin of Waterford, Lindsey (Kyle) Ritchie of El Paso, TX, Jacqueline (Bryan) Schaeff of Bridgeport, Joseph Aspin, Kathryn Aspin of Birch Run, Elizabeth Getzinger, Olivia Getzinger, Jere Jr. Getzinger all of West Branch, two great-grandsons, Benjamin and Nolan Ritchie. Also surviving are sisters, Rita (John) Ezop of Frankenmuth, Jeannine Jordon of Frankenmuth, sister-in-law, Brenda Nowicki of Denton, TX and lifelong hunting and fishing buddy, Ron (Virginia) Cymbal of AuGres, MI, and many nieces and nephews. Conrad was preceded in death by daughter, Julie Horupa, sisters, Barbara Ezop and Marlene Ecarius, and brothers, Joseph, Francis, and Michael Nowicki. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen, MI will begin Monday, December 30, 2013 from 2-8 PM with Vigil Service at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Helen Catholic Church with visitation from 10:00 AM until time of mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands or American Cancer Society.
