Dean Everitt Mcgregor

Dean Everitt McGregor passed away Monday, September 24, 2007, age 76 years. He was born April 9, 1931 in Foster Township, Ogemaw County, Michigan, the son of Merritt and Florence (Hughes) McGregor. On October 13, 1951, he married the former Lottie A. Yost. Dean retired from GM-Grey Iron Foundry in 1987. He was a member of Union Local #668, the Rose City Historical Society, (he was proud that his parents and great-grandparents had been farmers and lumbermen in the Ogemaw & Oscoda counties since the late 1800’s). He camped with FCRV Polish Pine Campers and Jayco Horizons. He attended Lupton Friends Church. Dean is survived by his wife Lottie, his children, Larry (Marie) McGregor of Birch Run, Lee (Rosalie) McGregor of Saginaw, Mary Ann (Michael) Malecki of Birch Run, Lyle (Diane) McGregor of Bridgeport; 5 grandsons: Timothy (Jennifer Love) Malecki, Matthew Malecki, Jeffrey, Nicholas and Eric McGregor; 2 step-grandsons: Adam (Melissa) Clark, Christopher (Karla) Patterson; great-grandson: Gavin Patterson; 2 sisters: Frances Bedford of Holt, JoAnn (James) Weupper of Bay City; 3 brothers: Milton McGregor of Lansing, Jesse (June) McGregor of Rose City, Ralph (Marge) McGregor of Stockbridge, Georgia; several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses of Hospice of Michigan and Dr. Wahl’s office for excellent care. Visitation will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, Rose City, MI on Tuesday, September 25, from 3-9 p.m. Services will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, Rose City, MI on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 1:30 p.m. Services will be conducted by Pastors Matt Smith and Jack Rice of Lupton Friends Church, Lupton, MI. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, South Branch, Michigan. Memorial donations may be made to: Lupton Friends Church, Rose City Historical Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
