Dorothy Evelyn McDonald Bigelow Bumbalough Goldman, age 74, lost her brief battle with pancreatic cancer Monday, December 10, 2012 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born May 22, 1938 at the family home at Keno Corners to Edward and Lettie (Fisher) Bigelow. She resided in St. Helen Michigan her entire life. Dorothy married Richard Bumbalough in 1955. Dorothy was a certified nurses aid at Bortz Health Care in West Branch for 20 years. She enjoyed hunting, bowling, snowmobiling, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Dorothy was an active member of St. Helen Community Baptist Church. Dorothy is survived by her husband Charles McDonald, her daughter Debra (Joseph) Mellon of Coleman, her sons Jeffery (Anne) Bumbalough of Roscommon, Gene Bumbalough of Gulfport MS, her stepsons William (Cindy) Goldman of Fowler, Kevin (Terry) McDonald of Alger, stepdaughter DeeAnn (Philip) Hamilton of West Branch and daughter in law Debra (Darryl) Fistler of St. Helen. Also surviving are her grandchildren Steven and Kimberly Bumbalough, Kenneth and Cierra Goldman, Jet Pigeon, Jena Jameson, Emma McDonald and Darrin and Kim Messer. She was preceded in death by her son Jerry Bumbalough, and husbands Richard McCoy Bumbalough and William Goldman. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St.Helen will begin on Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 2-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home in St. Helen with burial following at Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Helen Community Baptist Church.
