Dorothy Mae Smith

Dorothy Mae Smith, age 81 of St. Helen, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Villa at West Branch. Dorothy was born on December 31, 1939 to Lewis and Irene (Soldan) Ellis in Cass City, MI. She has lived in St. Helen since 2005, formerly of Durand, MI. Dorothy attended St. Helen Community Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling and bingo.

Dorothy is survived daughters, Darlene (Wayne) Mender of Ortonville, Diana Prough of Lake City, Deborah (Steven) Buys of Barryton, sons, David, Daniel, and Derald Prough all of St. Helen, companion, Raymond Renneberg of St. Helen, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is brother, Richard (Cecilia) Ellis of Auburn Hills and sister, Phyllis (Ronald) Clark of TX.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Highland, MI.
