Dorothy R. Rooks

Dorothy R. Rooks, age 72 of St. Helen, passed away Thursday June 27, 2013 at her home. Dorothy had lived in St. Helen since 1988, formerly of Westland. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Wildwood Wheelers, Chapter 23, Good Sam. She loved camping, bus trips and going to the casino. Dorothy is survived by her children, Michael (Diana) Rooks of Keego Harbor, Kimberley (Mike) Beyer of West Branch and David (Manuela) Rooks of Germany, grandchildren, Tonya, Jacque, Michael, Emily, Sarah, Gina, Josie, Denise, Alex, Christopher and Tera and her great-grandchildren Ian, Camden, Morgan, Evan, Kiara, Sophia, Nathan, Michael, Cameron, Isiah and Oli. Also surviving is her sister, Sharon (Ron) Kenney of St. Clair Shores and her niece Debbie Kenney of St. Clair Shores. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe in 2006. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. American Legion Auxiliary Chaplain Dora Freeborg will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the family.
