Elmer L. O'Farrell

Elmer L. O’Farrell, age 93 of Rose City, passed away Monday August 29, 2011 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Elmer had lived in Rose City for most of his life. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Holy Family Council and the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree. Elmer married the former Shirley St. James on October 11, 1952 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Klacking Creek. Elmer is survived by his wife Shirley of Rose City, children, Madonna (Gregory) Gehl, Linda (Robert) Fach and Thomas (Robin) O’Farrell all of Rose City and Debbie (Daniel) Erbert-O’Farrell of Oxford, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will begin on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. There will be a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. and a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. On Friday, September 2, 2011, Elmer will lie in state at Holy Family Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Elmer’s Life at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Patrick Maher will officiate with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Branch. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
