Evelyn G. Reetz

Mrs. Reetz passed away at Bortz Health Care in Rose City. She was born in Lupton on September 7, 1914, the daughter of Roy and Mary Nickerson. She graduated 10th grade from Lupton school and 12th grade from Rose City High School. She married Allen Reetz in Lapeer in 1934. They had four children. Evelyn was a very active member of the community. She was a former Lupton School Board Member and retired as Lupton Postmaster. Evelyn is survived by her children, John Reetz of Tennessee, Norman (Janet) Reetz of Otisville, Nancy (George) Riskovitch of Lupton and Timothy (Laura) Reetz of Beverly Hills, MI., 15 grandchildren Chris Reetz, Carl (Heather) Reetz, Robert (Ina) Reetz, Tom (JoAnne) Reetz, Chad (Linda) Reetz, Jim Reetz, Todd Riskovitch, Sally Jo Verhelle, Carman (Joe) Bogart, Lisa Edwards, Carolyn (Jeff) Savoie, Jason Reetz, Jeremy (Jodi) Reetz, Jeff Reetz and Kristi Reetz. 9 great-grandchildren, her sister Marianne Potter of Clarkston, and sisters in law, Jeana (Reetz) Bushey of Alpena, Evelyn Reetz of Colorado and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen Reetz, great-grandson Robert Reetz II, granddaughter Julie Reetz, brothers Sid and Bruce and her sisters, Edna, Thelma, Ruth, Margaret, Helen and Jeanie. Friends may call at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City on Saturday June 28, 2003 from 6-9 P.M. and Sunday from 1-9 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday June 30, 2003 at the funeral home. Pastor Jack Rice will officiate with burial following at Lane Heights Cemetery, Lupton. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lupton Friends Church Chimes Fund.
