George William Gibson

George William Gibson, age 89, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at his home in West Branch with his family by his side. He was born on December 19,1930 in Isabella County, MI to George and Lucy (Turner) Gibson. He married Lorraine Vincent on May 27, 1950. Bill owned the Gamble Store from 1950-1962 in Prescott, MI. He was a farmer and hauled milk from 1950-1975. He was an over the road trucker and retired in 1976. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, hunting and wintering in Florida. He had a gift of gabbing and loved people. Bill always had a story to tell.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Lorraine Gibson of West Branch; children, Roger (Kathy) Gibson of Whittemore, Connie (Richard) Colvin of West Branch, Richard (Marie) Gibson of West Branch, Denise (Ed) Babcock of Roscommon and Karen (Scott) Bennett of Ninilchik, AK; grandchildren, Patrick (Sarah) Gibson, Julie (Doug) Bernard, Kristan (Greg) Freitag, Jason (Amy) Colvin, Jerrod (Haley) Colvin, Jim (Heather) Wahl, Warren (Ashley) Wahl, Fredrick (Amanda) Bennett, Quinn Bennett and Sam (Chelsea) Bennett; 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church in West Branch.
