Georgia "Katie" Meyers

Georgia K. “Katie” Meyers, age 86 of St. Helen, passed away Thursday January 13, 2011 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Katie had lived in St. Helen for the past 17 years, formerly of Davisburg, MI and Tucson, AZ. She was a member of the St. Helen Civic Association and the St. Helen Community Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, bingo and trips to the casino. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Katie is survived by her husband Lee “John” Meyers of St. Helen, her daughter Martha Burt of Ft. Myers, FL, stepchildren Jon (Maureen) Meyers of Birmingham and Sandra (David) Campbell of Davisburg and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Andrew (MaryAnn) Shiel of Waterford and her sister Nancy (Chuck) Bronson of Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan (Leegan) Brewer and her brothers Walter Shiel, Donald Shiel and Tom Shiel. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date with a burial of ashes to be held at Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen.
