Harvey F. Emmons

Harvey Frank Emmons, Sr., age 81, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 in West Branch, MI. Harvey was born on January 30, 1933 in Detroit, MI to Frank and Anna Emmons. He grew up in Taylor, MI where he met and married his wife of 61 years, Shirley J. Emmons. Formally of Southgate, MI, Harvey has lived in West Branch, MI for the past 40 years. Harvey served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a Master Mechanic and builder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time winters in Florida. Harvey is survived by his loving wife Shirley Emmons of Prescott, MI; sons: Frank Emmons of Standish, Perry Emmons of Prescott, Duane (Jan) Emmons of Manchester, and Harvey Frank (Sue) Emmons, Jr. of Lake Ogemaw; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ronald Emmons of Lincoln Park, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Anna and brother, Merle. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Steuernol and McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch from 4:00 p.m.-9:00p.m. The funeral service will be held Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Reverend Kim Chenoweth will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Helping Hands.
