Helen N. Douglas

Helen Douglas, age 87 of West Branch passed away Sunday September 26, 2004 at Bortz Health Care in West Branch. She had lived in West Branch since 1940. She was very active in Girl Scouts and the Questers and a member of the Eastern Star. She and her husband formerly owned and operated the Model Restaurant in West Branch for many years. Helen is survived by her sisters Mary (Ed) Patrick of Orland Park, IL and Catherine Griparis of Joliet IL and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas, her daughter Nancy and a brother Thomas Pappas. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be held from 9-11 A.M. on Thursday September 30, 2004. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 A.M. at the Trinity Episcopal Church in West Branch. Fr. Irenaeus Cox will officiate with burial following at Brookside Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch.
