Hilding John Nelson

Hilding John Nelson, age 79, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2006 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He resided in West Branch his entire life. Hilding married Helen (Peggy) Remilong on October 2, 1948 at St. John Lutheran Church in West Branch. He enjoyed farming and working in the woods. Surviving family members include Hilding’s wife Helen, sons Kenneth (Janet) Nelson of Standish, Gary (Annette) Nelson of Sterling, Robert (Rose) Nelson of West Branch, John (Gayle) Nelson of Lupton and Mark (Ann) Nelson of Lupton; daughter DeAnna (Jeff) Miller of West Branch; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also surviving Hilding is his brother Magnus (Alva) Nelson of West Branch, sister Gloria (Leonard) Foster of Flint and sister Clark Fedewa of Houghton, Michigan. Preceding Hilding in death was his mother and father Magnus and Alfia Nelson, brothers Nels and Lingburg, sister Hulda and grandchild Joshua Nelson. Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be on Monday, October 23, 2006 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Donald J. Wojewski officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Counsel of Aging.
