Illa C. (Meir) Kenworthy

Illa C. Kenworthy, age 85 of West Branch, passed away at her daughter's home in East Lansing, MI. Illa had lived in the West Branch area for most of her retired life. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Ann's guild and Council of Catholic Women. She retired from the Budget department of General Motors. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, traveling, gardening and spending time with her family. Illa is survived by her children, Dan (Diana) Kenworthy of Lapeer, Mary Ann (Gene) Romel of East Lansing, Dale (Alice) Kenworthy of Huntington, IN, Robert (Anita) Kenworthy of Clio, Diane (Jim) Williams of South Lyon, Jim (Nid) Kenworthy of Mesa, AZ, 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters Ione Hart of Flint, MI and Ilene Gilbreath of DeWitt, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents Conrad and Caroline Meir, her husband of 62 years, Roy A. Kenworthy, her brothers, Floyd and Roy Meir, and her sisters Irene Bragg, Ina Troyer and Iva Billig. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 2-9 p.m. with a rosary around 3:00 p.m. and a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Illa will lie in state on Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life begins at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Patrick Maher will officiate with burial following at Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flower, the family requests contributions be made to the CCW Funeral Dinner Fund. Checks may be made out to CCW Funeral Dinner Fund, c/o Holy Family Catholic Church, 402 W. Peters Road, West Branch, MI 48661.
