James Dale Coln

James Dale Coln, age 69, lost his 26 year battle with 3 different cancers on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at his home in West Branch, MI with his wife by his side. He was born on January 19, 1949 in Flint, MI to J.D. and Edna (Edgar) Coln. He has lived in Ogemaw County since 2000, formerly of Flint. Dale retired from General Motors/AC Delco after 32 years of employment. He served on several Union Committees during his 32 years at GM. Dale married Shirley Wangler on December 26, 2006 in West Branch. He enjoyed playing golf, was a Harley enthusiast and a member of the Patriot Guard Riders.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Shirley Coln of West Branch; children, Tony Coln of Durand and Tami Sue (Matt) Niemann of Clio; grandchildren, Madalyn and Braxton Coln both of Durand, and Justine (Duane) Brewer and Bradly Niemann all of Clio; great grandchildren, Scarlett Sue Brewer and Elyse Quinn Brewer both of Clio; step children, Jason (Katie) Wangler and Melissa (Brad) Bertossi all of West Branch; step grandchildren, Jason Jr., Emily, and Faith Wangler and Cori, Triniti and Taite Bertossi all of West Branch; and uncle, Carlon Edgar and several cousins of Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, and aunts and uncles.

A memorial ride to Sturgis, South Dakota will be held at a later date this year.
