James E. Novak

James E. Novak “Big Daddy”, age 64 of West Branch, passed away suddenly Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. James had lived in West Branch since 1996, formerly of Saginaw. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Sons of the American Legion both of West Branch. He retired from General Motors in October 1996. James is survived by his wife Tammy Novak of West Branch, children, Michael (Carrie) Novak Sr. of Burt and Christine (Mark) Rivera of West Branch, his stepson Michael Mathis of Bay City and grandchildren, Matthew, Michael Jr., Nicholas, Josie, Caeley, Ellie and Emily. Also surviving are his sister, Carol Novak of Saginaw, Julie Novak of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Linda (Gary) Smoder of Saginaw and his brother Ed Novak of Saginaw. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Elinor Novak. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Rev. Dan Stoneback will officiate with burial following at Damon Cemetery.
