James F. Berg Sr.

James F. Berg Sr., age 85, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Bortz Health Care in West Branch, MI. He had lived in West Branch on Lake Ogemaw since 1989, formerly of Sterling Heights, MI. James was born in Berkley, MI on September 8, 1929. He married Peggy Ann Taylor on June 11, 1953 in Pontiac, MI and they had celebrated their 61st anniversary this year. James was in the Navy and a Veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid golfer and had 2 holes in 1 in his lifetime. James also enjoyed woodworking and built a log cabin from scratch on Lake Ogemaw.

James is survived by his loving wife, Peggy of West Branch, MI; sons: James (Kathy) Berg Jr. of Sterling Heights, MI, and Jeffery (Annette) Berg of Sterling Heights, MI; grandchildren: Timothy, Shawn, Jamie, Margaret, Donald (Laura), Michael, and Laura; and siblings: Thomas, Ted, Al and Patty. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Jerome.

Cremation has taken place and the family will have a Memorial Service with burial at a later time.
