Jean Marie Lucas

Jean Marie Lucas, age 82, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at The Villa at West Branch. She had lived in West Branch since she was 18 years old, formerly of Detroit, MI. Jean was born on August 6, 1935 in Detroit to Ernest and Kathryn (Remiers) Casaroll. Jean married Don Lucas in 1953. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Eastern Star. Jean had worked for Art Crawford at Central Paving and Fritz Crecine Agency for 35 years. She was also the secretary for Holy Family Catholic Church. After she retired, Jean worked at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Homes helping in the office and in the evenings with visitations. Jean enjoyed reading, knitting and babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her children, Donna Jean (Norman Webb) Lucas of West Branch, Jeffery Allen (Marty) Lucas of Rose City, Donald James (Sue Kurtz) Lucas of West Branch, and Debra Jo (Robert) Resteiner of West Branch; grandchildren, Angie Bailey, Richard Kokowitz, Joshua (Charlotte) Lucas, Jessica (Mike) Lahar, Jamie (John Szkubiel) Lucas, Jacie (Matt Peterson) Lucas, Jorie Lucas, and Ethan (Erin) Resteiner; great grandchildren, Devon, MacKenzie, Tanner, Hailey, Marlee, Lila, Michael, McKenzie, Madisyn, John, Camden, Carson, Laeten, Aaven, Axton and Soren; brother, Joseph Casaroll; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Brian Chace will officiate.
