John G. Kurtz

John Graham Kurtz, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away at his home from cancer on December 5, 2006. Mr. Kurtz was born December 19, 1934 to Alfred and Rita (Elliott) Kurtz in Saginaw. John received his master's degree in Education from Central Michigan University. John enjoyed many career challenges in Business, Education, Driver's Training, Alternative Education and Administration. His favorite recreational activities always involved his love of nature, the out of doors, athletics and sports. John is survived by his wife, Susann M. of West Branch: his 6 children; Peter (Gwen) Kurtz of Menominee, MI. Leslie (Ed) McShane of Waterford, MI. Jill (Frank) Polese of San Diego,CA. Nancy (Brian) Marsh of Longmont, CO. Noel (Nicole) Kurtz of Ionia, MI and Amanda (Matt) Diehl of West Branch, MI; grandchildren: Larry McShane, Dominic, Joseph, and Isabella Polese, Meckenzie, Chandler, Madison and Collin Diehl; brother, James (Jacqui) Kurtz and a sister Elizabeth (Edward) Becker both of Saginaw. John was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 to 9:00P.M. and on Thursday from 12:00 noon to 4:30P.M. Memorial services will at 4:30P.M. on Thursday, December 7, 2006 from the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, West Branch. Rev. Mary Lynch-Mallory will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands or the Surline Elementary School Library. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
