John T. Hunter Sr.

John T. Hunter Sr., age 80 passed away at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He had lived in St. Helen since 1986, formerly of North Branch. He was a member of the American Legion Post #416, the VFW and the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel. He enjoyed stamp collecting, hunting, fishing and feeding the birds and squirrels. Mr. Hunter is survived by his children, Orrie (Kathy) Hunter of Charlotte, Thomas (Suzanne) Hunter and John Hunter Jr. both of North Branch and Robert Hunter of East Tawas. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, his brother Douglas Hunter and sister Delores both of Leslie. He was preceded in death by his wife Bertine and his brothers, Jiggs, Lee and Pat Hunter. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Sunday December 26, 2004 from 5-9 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. American Legion Post #416 will conduct the services with burial following at Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen. Memorial Contributions may be made to the EMS, the Richfield Fire Department or to the American Legion Post #416.
