Thick, Judith Ann (Hart) passed away August 9, 2006 at her home on Clear Lake in the company of her loving family after a courageous battle against multiple myeloma. Judy is survived by her husband Jerry and by five children Wendy (Scott) Carpenter, Jennifer (Brian) Meaton, Julie (David) Hutchinson, Jody (Steve) Taratuta, Jill (Mike) Kosko; nine grandchildren, Lindsay & Trevor Carpenter, Tyler and Jordan Meaton, Hudson & Lucy Hutchinson, Brittany Taratuta, Logan and Ryan Kosko and her beloved Bichon Frise, McGee. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Ginny) Hart of Tennessee, sister Marilyn (Rod) Spence of North Carolina and brother Michael Hart of Saginaw and many nieces and nephews and more friends than we can count. She was preceded in death by her father, Irving M. Hart and mother Mildred (Peters) Hart. Judy was born July 12, 1936 in Saginaw and was a member of the Junior League of Saginaw, Garden Club and the Home for Peace and Justice. A 1954 graduate of Arthur Hill High School and a graduate of Michigan State University, she worked as an elementary school teacher. Judy was an independent filmmaker, director and writer, she loved her family, Red Wing hockey, cookie cutters and morning coffee on the patio at her home on Clear Lake. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, August 13, 2006 at 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. Col. William Speck will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jonah House, 1301 Moreland Ave., Baltimore, MD 21216, or the West Branch Public Library.
