Kenneth G. Perkins

November 11, 1927 — December 26, 2003

Kenneth G. Perkins, age 76 of West Branch passed away suddenly at his home on December 26. He was a life long resident of West Branch, the son of Ida and Seaver Perkins. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Japan. He worked his entire life in the oil fields of Ogemaw County, retiring in 1993 from the Henry Sappington Co. His and his wife, Shirley's greatest accomplishments were his daughters--Vickie (Greg) Morris, Peggy (Pete) Winter, Judy (Dan) Winter, Kathleen (Kelly) Sawyer, their grandchildren--Courtney (Chad) Wangler, Bob Winter and Jenny Barber, Jack Morris and Randee Seabolt, Kyle Sawyer, Kori Sawyer, Alex Winter and Adam Winter. Also surviving are his sister in law, Pat Beasley and her son Zachary Beasley, his adopted family of Christine and Tony Buckett and their family, Stewart and Ian Buckett and Nicole Buckett, brother-Delbert (Doris) Perkins, sisters--Annabelle Schleicher and Betty Blaisus, brothers in law-Bud (Patty) Durfee, Jim Durfee and Mike (Rose) Beasley and their families. He was preceded in death by his father in law, Harry Beasley and a sister, Dorothy Miller. He was loved and will be greatly missed every day by his family and friends and his special dog, Ellie Mae. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday December 28, 2003 from 12-9 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch. Fr. Robert Bissot will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ogemaw County Humane Society.
