Kurt Edward Killackey

Kurt Edward Killackey, age 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Rose City, MI on Friday, August 19, 2016 with his family by his side. He had lived in Rose City for all of his life. Kurt was born on January 21, 1953 in West Branch, MI to Edward and Elinor (Sanback) Killackey. On August 19, 1983, he married Kathryn Naples in West Branch. Kurt retired in 2013 from the City of Rose City where he was a DPW Supervisor for 34 years. He enjoyed watching westerns on Encore and riding his Kubota around the property. He was a Detroit Tigers fan and always loved spending time with his family and pets.

Kurt is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Kathryn Killackey of Rose City, MI; children, Mike (Michelle) Killackey of Fowlerville, MI, Amy (Brian) Conway of Waterford, MI, Sarah Killackey of West Branch, MI, Katie Killackey of Rose City,MI, Kristi Killackey of Waterford, MI and stepson, Paul (Peggy)Ruggles of Midland, MI ; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Nancy (Ken) Bell of Rose City, MI, Judy (Bill) Clayton of Glendale, AZ, and Susan Green of Rose City, MI; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his stepson, Eric Ruggles and parents, Ed and Elinor Killackey.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City, MI will begin on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Dan Stoneback will officiate.
