Lavern L. Longroy

LaVern L. Longroy, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He had lived in West Branch, Clear Lake area since 1979, formerly of Southfield, MI. Bud was born on March 20, 1939 to Raymond and Gladys (Rime) Longroy in Flint, MI. He married Mary Ann Surdu in Detroit on October 1, 1960. Bud was born and raised in Southfield and was a member of the St. John’s Romanian Catholic Church in Detroit. He was a founding member, in 1980, of the Ogemaw Hills Snowmobile Club and active in the Ogemaw County Fair. Bud enjoyed snowmobiling, grooming the trails, traveling and hanging out with his buddies.

Bud is survived by his loving wife of almost 57years, Mary Ann Longroy of West Branch; sons, Thomas (Robin) Longroy of St. Marys, FL, Raymond (Delane) Wixom, MI, Vernon Longroy of Troy, MI, and Gerald (LeeAnn) Longroy of St. Clair Shores, MI; and grandchildren, Jocelyn, Ashley, Justin, Natalie, Nicholas, Nerissa, Kaitlyn, Adina, and Joseph. He is preceded in death by his parents and two aunts.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later time.
