Laurie Marie Cappell

Laurie Marie Cappell, age 60, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at her home in West Branch, MI with her loving family by her side. She had lived in West Branch her entire life. Laurie was born on August 22, 1957 in West Branch to Russell and Sybil (Curtis) Winter. She married Robert Cappell in West Branch on June 1, 1991. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, going to garage sales, playing cards, crafting, and spending time in the sun, sand and water. Laurie especially loved spending all of her time with her family and friends.

Laurie is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Robert Cappell of West Branch; sons, Craig (Brandy) Breining of Rose City, MI, Jared Breining of Muskegon, MI, and Blake (Julie) Cappell of Rochester, MN; daughter, Blair (Cary) Johnson of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren, Lexie, Kylie, Maddie, Kayden, Brysen, Dawsyn, Hartleigh, Max, Lincoln, and June; great granddaughter, Braelynn; siblings, Michael (Margaret) Winters of West Branch, Patrick (Cathy) Winter of Bay City, MI, Debbie (Gerald) Schroeder of WI, and Jim (Laura) Winter of IN; brother in law, Bill Meiser of West Branch; and sister in law, Jan Winter of Clare, MI. She is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Winter and sister, Phyllis Meiser.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will be held at the St. Helen Catholic Church in St. Helen on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. The interment of ashes will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in West Branch at 2:30 p.m. Father Wayne Dziekan and Sister Barbara Matievich, O.P. will officiate.
